Clouted vs ViewsBase: Pricing, Clippers and Control

Compare Clouted vs ViewsBase for brand clipping campaigns: managed distribution, published pricing, creator payments, reporting and your team's workload.

By Jacob Georgas · November 2, 2026

Marketing teammates hold phones showing vertical clips beside an amber analytics dashboard in a dark office.

Hire Clouted if your brand wants a partner to plan, produce and place clips through its creator network. Use ViewsBase if your team will recruit and manage its own clippers and needs post tracking, earnings calculations and records of payments it sends.

For consumer apps, DTC brands, entertainment marketers and agencies, the deciding question is who will do the campaign work. Clippers seeking paid work can visit Clouted's creator program.

Methodology — checked 2 November 2026: ViewsBase publishes this comparison. We examined public Clouted service pages and creator-program material alongside ViewsBase pricing and documentation, using retrieved text that may include cached crawls. These are vendor descriptions, not a purchased-campaign or payout test. The historical illustration uses our own app's aggregate data pulled on 17 October 2026.

What are we buying from each company?

Clouted combines strategy, content production and distribution. Its offer extends beyond clipping into original UGC, managed pages, creator seeding and paid amplification. A brand can buy execution around a launch rather than assemble those jobs internally.

ViewsBase supplies software for your independently recruited roster. Your operator sets the deals, handles creative decisions and resolves exceptions. If you need the operating steps, use our guide to running a clipping campaign; this page focuses on the buying decision.

Is Clouted legit?

Clouted identifies its operator as Clout Kitchen Holdings Inc. d/b/a Clouted. It is an a16z speedrun alum: a16z's directory lists cohort 003 and a 2024 founding date. TechCrunch reported on 20 May 2026 that Clouted raised a $7 million seed round led by Slow Ventures.

Its case-study listings include ILLENIUM/Liquid State (30M+ views), House of Feelings (39M+ impressions), an unnamed action movie and a TV series; those figures are Clouted's own reports. Funding and case studies show an operating business, but do not independently verify campaign results or creator payment timing.

Clouted pricing: what does our brief cost?

Clouted's consumer-app and DTC page advertises sub-$0.50 CPM alongside flat pricing, and describes that CPM as achieved on campaigns. That is a reported result, not a confirmed rate available to every buyer. CPM means cost per thousand; the proposal must identify which views enter that calculation.

The accessible pages reviewed did not establish a numerical minimum commitment, standard rate card or complete fee breakdown. Ask Clouted to quote your assets, audience, platforms and launch period, separating included creator compensation from production, management, paid media and other charges. Its clipping FAQ explicitly treats past reach and CPM as reference points rather than forecasts.

ViewsBase's published subscription choices are below. Annual equivalents require yearly billing; they are not monthly commitments. Sources: pricing and billing documentation.

PlanBilled monthlyBilled yearly: total / monthly equivalentPosts per billing month
Starter$49$468 / $391,000
Growth$149$1,428 / $1193,000
Scale$299$2,868 / $2397,500
Agency$349$3,348 / $2797,500 shared across clients

The allowance counts newly tracked, non-rejected posts during the billing month. Rejected posts are free, and historical posts do not consume the new month's allowance. Creators, campaigns and seats are unlimited. Growth adds API/MCP access; Scale adds payout exports and manual post refresh; Agency adds client workspaces and reporting. Recruitment and operating labor remain separate costs.

Where is Clouted the better fit?

Clouted is the stronger fit when your missing resource is execution. A brand with approved footage and a deadline, but nobody to recruit editors or coordinate publishing, has a practical reason to outsource.

Clouted's engine page claims access to 100,000+ creators, explicitly including partner distribution vendors. That is network scale, not a promise that every creator is active or available for your brief. Relevant creators and placements matter more than the headline total.

For film and TV teams, its entertainment offer combines trailer clips, reactions, fan-page placements, creator seeding and premiere-week amplification. Buying those together can make sense when the release needs coordinated distribution across communities.

It also markets directly to consumer apps and DTC brands. On its app page, Clouted reports 3.7 million-plus views within 48 hours and a 42% month-over-month increase in in-app purchases for an unnamed app. Those are company claims; the public account does not establish independent verification or isolate how much purchase growth the campaign caused.

Its pages give 24 to 72 hours depending on the offer: consumer tech says 24 hours, clipping says 24–48 hours, and engine setup says 24–72 hours. Scope, assets and approvals affect the clipping window; agree a schedule that fits your launch. For a broader shortlist, compare services that supply creator distribution.

Who recruits, edits, approves and pays?

Assign an owner to each row before choosing. Clouted's column follows its brand workflow and clipping process; your proposal should confirm the assignments for your campaign.

For the software route, join links and applications organize onboarding. Creators can see their own terms, post statuses and earnings. The payment engine applies each saved deal: rates per 1,000 views, tiers, caps, fixed post amounts or per-post amounts with bonuses.

For reuse, confirm whether your agreement covers paid ads, re-editing, raw files, duration and territories, and who controls posting accounts after the campaign. Use the same questions with direct creators; content ownership and account ownership need separate answers.

Which views count before a creator is ready to be paid?

Clouted describes verified creators and creative review. Those statements do not establish its per-view fraud methodology, payable-view evidence or dispute timetable. Its reviewed public material also leaves the counting window and billable-versus-payable view definitions unresolved. Ask for those terms; missing public detail does not mean missing controls. See its engine description.

ViewsBase's counting rules default to 7 days after publication, with automatic rejection below 1,000 views at closing; rules are configurable. With the rate set, a successful closing fetch freezes the amount; a failed fetch leaves the post open instead of using stale counts.

The campaign's spike-hold setting is on by default for new campaigns; campaigns created before October 2026 retain their setting. When enabled, the check starts after 10,000 views and flags a jump of 20,000 or more views in one update when both its comments-and-shares rate and its likes rate fall below half their earlier levels. A held post stays outside payable totals, payout files and payment summaries, and cannot be marked paid until approved; already-recorded payments stay unchanged. The flag calls for a decision, not an automatic accusation of fraud. For deals tied to viewer geography, creators can submit analytics recordings as evidence for the applicable rate tier.

A final amount owed is not confirmation that money has reached the creator.

Can we inspect the results beyond a headline view count?

Clouted promises a live dashboard covering clips, creator output, platform CPM and engagement, followed by a report within 48 hours of campaign end. The published deliverables include top clips and creators, spend by platform and recommendations. Export formats, audience-country evidence and the update schedule were not established in the reviewed text.

ViewsBase refreshes TikTok and Instagram views every 24 hours on Starter, 12 on Growth and 6 on Scale or Agency; Shorts refresh daily on every plan. Instagram views depend on public availability; missing counts can be entered with an audit note. Payout files include CSV, Wise and PayPal formats on Scale and above. Exporting a file does not transfer money.

For either route, agree how views connect to qualified visits, installs, signups or purchases. Name the tracked links, attribution source and decision date. A low CPM alone cannot tell an app team whether it acquired useful users.

What would a month with our own creators cost?

Planning illustration, not a Clouted quote or a forecast. For a consumer-app launch month, separate creator obligations from software and staff time. Suppose the roster produces 1,000,000 recorded views on earning posts, with at most 1,000 newly tracked non-rejected posts, and counting and review finish within one paid subscription month. The calculation uses a historical cost ratio only to illustrate those budget layers.

Cost layerIllustrative amount
Creator earnings allocation: 1,000,000 ÷ 1,000 × $0.246$246
One paid Starter month$49
Subtotal before operating costs$295
Recruiting, briefing, editing, review and disputesAdd your staff or provider cost
Transfers, currency conversion, taxes and other chargesAdd actual costs

Growth alternative: keeping the same assumptions, $246 + $149 = $395 before operating costs, with API/MCP access and 12-hour TikTok/Instagram refresh. This is an alternative calculation, not a plan recommendation. If payout CSV is essential, Scale gives $246 + $299 = $545; neither Starter nor Growth includes those files. Additional subscription months add cost.

Historical basis: our 17 October 2026 pull for DePuff AI, our own consumer app, recorded $339,331.88 in positive paid or finalized earnings across 7,079 earning posts with 1,377,396,331 views, giving the rounded $0.246 per 1,000 used here. This one-advertiser sample, mostly TikTok slideshows and talking heads, is no Clouted benchmark or recruiting rate: it may include obligations awaiting transfer, includes over-cap views, leaves out rejected posts and operating costs, and is explained in our data methodology.

Managed production and distribution have value absent from this subtotal; no savings claim follows. Build your working budget from the deals you can actually agree with creators.

With a roster ready, add its offers and post links to ViewsBase, work through exceptions, and compare the ledger with your external payment records. Starting the 14-day trial requires a card; billing begins when the trial expires unless you cancel beforehand.

What should we ask Clouted before signing?

Send sample assets and request answers attached to your proposal:

  • Complete invoice: What minimum, billing unit and fees apply? Which services and creator compensation are included? Is the advertised achieved CPM relevant to this quote?
  • Distribution plan: Which niches, countries, platforms and active creators are planned for our campaign? What source assets and approval deadlines must we meet?
  • View rules: Which views are billable to us and payable to creators? What starts and ends counting, and how are caps, paid traffic and disputed counts handled?
  • Payment calendar: Which entity owes and sends creator money? Does weekly or bi-weekly describe transfer batches after review, and how long can review take?
  • Reporting: Can we see a sample export, audience-country evidence and the dashboard update schedule?
  • Delivery and exit: What files, licenses, account access and reports remain after cancellation? What happens to unspent funds, outstanding creator obligations and missed delivery commitments?

Can we use both?

A separately operated combination can fit: Clouted handles launch distribution while your team maintains an independently recruited roster in ViewsBase. Confirm that your agreements permit the arrangement, and give every post one compensation owner so overlapping records do not produce duplicate obligations.

This does not assume an integration, automatic data import or permission to take Clouted's creators elsewhere. Keep permitted post links, final counts and payment records available for reconciliation.

Who should pick which?

Pick Clouted when you want a staffed distribution campaign and its proposal covers the creative, audience and launch coordination you need.

Pick ViewsBase when your team owns the roster and needs each post priced from its creator's deal, with the amount frozen when its counting window closes successfully. With spike holds enabled, flagged posts need approval before they can be marked paid. Your team pays its own way, with no ViewsBase fee on creator pay. Choose the plan for your post volume, exports and reporting needs.

Use both when launch reach and your ongoing roster have distinct jobs, clear permissions and separate payment responsibilities.
