SideShift is a UGC platform for brands that combines creator sourcing, campaign management and payouts. Choose it when you need to hire creators and handle payments through a platform; choose ViewsBase when you recruit creators yourself and need to track posts, calculate earnings and record payments your team sends.

Looking for creator gigs? Start with SideShift's creator page; this comparison is for the team paying creators.

How we compared — checked 19 October 2026: We make ViewsBase. We reviewed SideShift's public plans, product pages, support and terms alongside ViewsBase's pricing and documentation. Some retrieved text came from cached crawls; pricing screenshots were captured on 19 October. This compares documented costs and workflows, not campaign performance or a hands-on payment test. No account was created and no transaction was made.

Do you need to find creators, or manage the creators you already hire?

Start with the deliverable. Buying raw UGC files for your ads differs from commissioning posts on creators' accounts or buying access to an influencer's audience. If creators will cut your existing footage, use the clipping campaign brief checklist to specify the work.

SideShift lets brands post briefs, review applications and past work, and shortlist creators. Its creator search and campaign workflow suits a team that needs help finding people as well as organizing production.

ViewsBase starts with the creators your team brings. You can invite creators or approve applications through your own join link, but it supplies no marketplace roster. Someone on your team still owns recruiting, creative feedback and payment administration.

For the broader choice, see marketplace, agency or your own program.

What does SideShift UGC cost a brand or agency?

The table puts SideShift's brand prices beside ViewsBase's current plans. Annual figures are full-year commitments, not month-to-month prices. Creator compensation is separate in every row.

SideShift recommends creator budgets of $2,000–$5,000, $5,000–$10,000 and $10,000+ per month for Starter, Growth and Scale. These are recommendations. A required minimum deposit, numerical take rate and numerical deposit/withdrawal fee schedule are not published in the reviewed pages. Its support FAQ says to check applicable processing charges when funding or paying out; ads and optional services are additional expenses.

How do agency charges work?

SideShift agency pricing is $150/month for the platform, plus $149 per Starter client, $349 per Growth client or $849 per Scale client. Each client has its own plan, wallet and subscription. Annually, the platform costs $1,260 and each client costs $1,252, $2,932 or $7,132 respectively.

For example, three Starter clients cost $597/month in software: $150 + 3 × $149. ViewsBase Agency uses the shared allowance shown above and adds client workspaces, read-only logins and branded reports. Its client reporting documentation distinguishes share links with optional spend sections from client logins, which show creator spend. The reviewed SideShift agency pages do not specify those reporting permissions. See how agencies run clipping for several clients for the operating workflow.

Which plans offer a free trial?

SideShift's monthly plans offer 14 days free; annual plans charge upfront without a trial. Its monthly agency trial covers the platform and first client only. Additional clients have no trial.

ViewsBase's 14-day trial includes every feature and requires a card; cancel before it ends to avoid the subscription charge.

Who pays creators, and what happens to unused money?

With SideShift, you fund a wallet and review creator amounts within its payment workflow. Its terms describe the wallet as a limited-use ledger, not a bank account or escrow account, with funding and payouts handled through Stripe, Whop or approved providers.

Under SideShift's terms, sections B5–B7, accrued creator amounts become committed and cannot be withdrawn. You may request uncommitted funds back once active contracts and other outstanding obligations are resolved. Any withdrawal is returned only through a method the payment provider permits, and possibly delayed for risk review. Deposit and processing fees are non-refundable. Qualifying work can remain owed when a campaign ends.

SideShift's plan page says creator funds stay in your wallet until you approve the work; its terms add that amounts shown as Total Owed are due unless you file a timely good-faith dispute; SideShift may pause the disputed amount for up to ten business days while it reviews (B7.2–B7.3).

ViewsBase holds no creator funds and takes no cut of creator pay. Its payment engine prices each post from the creator's saved deal. Existing posts retain their terms when future offers change. Your team sends payment through its own method, then records the paid posts and reference. Scale and higher plans export Wise and PayPal payout files for your team to upload; downloading a file does not send money or mark posts paid.

What would a pay-per-view pilot cost?

Assume 10 simultaneously active creators, 100 qualifying posts and 2 million eligible views at $0.40 per 1,000 views. No post exceeds its cap, all counting windows and reviews finish, and you use one paid software month. These are assumptions, not a forecast of recruitment or results.

Creator compensation is:

2,000,000 eligible views ÷ 1,000 × $0.40 = $800

This volume fits both Starter plans' published capacity, assuming SideShift's other plan conditions are met. The assumed creator spend is below SideShift's recommended Starter budget.

Cost for this assumed monthSideShift brand StarterViewsBase Starter
Hypothetical creator compensation$800$800
Software subscription$299$49
Known subtotal before excluded costs$1,099$849
Payment charges to addApplicable charges; amounts not publicly verifiedYour payment-method fees

The software difference is $250 for this month, not guaranteed net savings. Both subtotals exclude recruiting and management labor, production beyond the stated compensation, payment/FX costs, taxes, ads and optional services. Extra months add subscriptions. Funding a wallet makes cash available; do not count that deposit again on top of the same creator compensation.

Why use $0.40? It was the median recorded rate in our own consumer app's pay-per-view campaigns for DePuff AI, mostly TikTok slideshow and talking-head posts. This is one advertiser, not a market census, and these were neither SideShift nor Whop campaigns. The full study and methodology use aggregates pulled on 17 October 2026.

Our pooled creator cost was about $0.25 per 1,000 views on earning posts; the study explains why that differs from the median deal rate.

Also, the top 10% of earning posts received 68.4% of earnings. For planning, that makes each post's maximum obligation worth settling before launch. It does not predict which platform will produce cheaper views.

Can I track views and review posts before paying?

Both products document tracking and checks. SideShift's reporting tools compare views, engagement and CPM by creator and post, including paid-creative evaluation. Its terms let SideShift exclude paid, non-human, manipulated or otherwise invalid activity from compensation calculations (section C7.3); the public pages do not establish detection accuracy.

ViewsBase defaults to a seven-day counting window from publication and rejects posts below 1,000 views when it closes; both settings are configurable. A successful final fetch freezes the amount. A failed fetch leaves the post open.

A views-spike hold excludes a flagged post from ready-to-pay totals and exports and prevents marking it paid until review. A hold is a reason to inspect traffic, not proof of fraud. Creator analytics recordings can support audience-based rate tiers.

Platform coverage also has limits: ViewsBase reads Instagram views when publicly available and does not track Instagram shares. Missing views can be entered manually with an audit note.

For a team already running its own roster, try one campaign with your actual rates and caps, then reconcile the ledger against your normal payment records.

Where is SideShift the better fit?

You need supply as well as software. Its marketplace combines applications and creator search with the campaign workflow. If recruiting is your bottleneck, the lower ViewsBase subscription alone does not solve it.

You want agreements and payment operations together. SideShift documents contracts, usage rights, payout handling and tax-document workflows. That bundle can remove work from an in-house marketer or agency operator. Confirm the rights in the actual campaign agreement. See its support explanation and payout documentation.

You buy organic content and paid creative together. SideShift documents Facebook coverage, paid-ad tools and App Store Connect/Stripe attribution sync in its plan workflow. These are useful reasons to evaluate it beyond a pay-per-view tracking comparison.

You need someone to run the work. SideShift Managed finds creators, plans content and manages execution, with a starting campaign budget of $20,000/month. That is a managed campaign budget, separate from self-serve software pricing. Compare the proposed scope with the people and hours you would otherwise need internally.

Is SideShift legit for brands?

SideShift is a creator-marketing platform with published brand plans, payment documentation and terms. On its first-party pages checked 19 October 2026:

  • SideShift says it is "trusted by 3,000+ brands" and lists brand customers on its pricing page.
  • SideShift reports more than $10 million paid to creators across its platform in the preceding 30 days, reported 26 September 2026, in its September snapshot.
  • SideShift says its plans include identity checks before payouts and handled 1099s/W-9s in the plan comparison.

That is enough to evaluate it as a business service. Published plans and terms do not, on their own, vouch for every individual gig or guarantee campaign results. Reviews can surface questions about cost, support and payment timing, but do not establish policies or typical outcomes. For a brand, settle deliverables, rights, payment conditions and total charges before hiring.

This comparison concerns sideshift.app, the creator platform, rather than the similarly named crypto service.

For switching, SideShift's section B14 restricts off-platform engagements and payments for SideShift-sourced relationships during use and for 24 months after the later of introduction or completion of the latest facilitated campaign, contract or payment, unless it gives written approval. A documented pre-existing relationship promptly disclosed to SideShift has an exception. Section B14.4 sets liquidated damages at the greater of $1,000 or the fees SideShift would reasonably have earned for each prohibited engagement, contract or payment arrangement. The ViewsBase route described here assumes an independently recruited roster.

Who should pick which?

Pick SideShift when finding creators, coordinating agreements and administering payments are jobs you need bundled. Choose its managed option when execution is the missing resource, and budget for the quoted scope.

Pick ViewsBase when you already recruit creators, run recurring pay-per-view campaigns and have someone responsible for reviews and direct payments. Compare the post allowance with your expected volume and include your team's operating time in the cost.

For either route, define a pilot budget and a decision date after counting and review finish. Judge the eligible reach, business results and full cost of running the program.
