ViewsBase

Moving from ViewsBase 1 to 2

What changes for brands, agencies and creators in ViewsBase 2, and the steps to take.

ViewsBase 2 is the new version of ViewsBase. Your campaigns, creators, posts, amounts and payment history carry over. This page lists what changes and what to do. Pick your part: workspace admins, agencies or creators.

What changes on day one

  • You pay nothing. Your existing workspace is on a free plan set up for existing customers. All features are on. It stays free until the ViewsBase team tells you otherwise.
  • Your data stays. Campaigns, creators, posts, finalized amounts and payment history are all there. Money you owe creators is kept.
  • You sign in with your email. Teams and creators get a 6-digit code by email. There are no passwords and no access codes to type.
  • Creators move to email accounts. An old access-code link opens a page that moves the creator in one step. See For creators.
  • Campaign editors cannot change campaign settings. Editors still add creators, set offers, price and finalize posts and mark payments. Campaign admins and workspace admins change settings. See Roles & Permissions.
  • Discord posts need an allowed server. A creator can submit with /submit-post only from a server on the campaign's Discord card. See Discord Bot.

For workspace admins

Work through this list once. The ViewsBase AI assistant can show you what is still open.

  1. Sign in with your email. Go to viewsbase.com/login, choose Brand or agency, enter your work email and the 6-digit code. Use the email your invite went to.
  2. Review your team's roles. Open Members to see who has access. Anyone who changed campaign settings as an editor now needs the Admin role on that campaign. Open the campaign, then Settings → People, and change their role. Only workspace admins can make someone a campaign admin. A campaign admin can then invite editors and viewers to that campaign from the same card.
  3. Decide who can join each campaign. Open the campaign, then Settings → Joining → Edit. Choose Invite only, Applications or Open to everyone. A campaign that already had a join link starts as Open to everyone. Other campaigns start as Invite only. See Joining a campaign.
  4. Set the payout methods each campaign pays with. Open Settings → Payouts → Payout methods. All methods are on by default. Turn off the ones you do not use. At least one stays on. Creators choose one saved method for each campaign. See Payment Engine.
  5. Check the Discord card. Open Settings → Discord (optional). Add every server where creators use /submit-post. A server that is not on the card gets "Server not allowed".
  6. Ask creators to move. On the Creators tab, a small mark says No ViewsBase account yet. Send those creators their old link, or ask them to sign in at viewsbase.com/login with their email. On Payments, choose Ask to update payout details to email creators who have no details or older details. Creators with no account cannot get that email. Ask them in Discord.
  7. Connect your AI assistant. Use the hosted MCP server instead of the old CLI. See ChatGPT and Claude. It comes with Growth and up, and with your free plan.
  8. Open each campaign's Overview. The Needs you list shows what waits on you: payments, new payout details, applications, prices, spikes and more.

For agencies

Do the workspace admin steps above for each client workspace. Then check these points.

  • Client workspaces. Each client has its own workspace with its own campaigns, creators and payments. All clients shows every client in one place. Agency admins add a client with New client.
  • Team and access. Agency admins open every client and manage the team, payments and billing. Agency editors open only the clients you tick, and they can pay creators there. A role called Payments no longer exists: people who had it are editors now.
  • Your client's team keeps its campaign roles. People who work at a client keep the campaign role they had, such as campaign admin or campaign editor. They see only their own campaigns. Agency admins invite client people from Members as Member with campaign roles.
  • Client viewers. A client viewer opens a read-only client page. They see the same numbers you see, including creator spend. The Show costs switch is gone.
  • Invites by email. Teammates and client viewers who have no ViewsBase login get an invite email. They sign in with the same email and a 6-digit code. An invite lasts 7 days. Use Resend or Cancel on the Team and access page.

See Agencies for the full picture.

For creators

If a team sent you a link, such as viewsbase.com/creator/..., follow these steps once.

  1. Open your old link. The page says your earnings moved to your ViewsBase account. Choose Continue with email.
  2. Sign in with your email. Enter your email and the 6-digit code. If you are new, this creates your account. Use an email you will keep, because payment emails go there.
  3. Link your handle. Choose the button that reads Link @yourhandle to and your email address. Your campaigns, posts and earnings for that handle are now on your account. The link from your team counts as proof, so no bio code is needed.
  4. Verify your other handles. Open Accounts, then Link an account. Add the code to your bio (YouTube: channel description) and choose Check my bio. The code works for 48 hours. When you verify a handle that a team already added, its campaigns link to you.
  5. Add how you get paid. Open Payouts. Add Wise, a bank account, UPI, crypto or PayPal. Saving needs a code that we email you.
  6. Choose one method for each campaign. A campaign shows How you get paid. Pick one of your saved methods that the campaign pays with. If only one fits, ViewsBase chooses it for you.

If the handle is already on another account. The page says someone already verified the handle on another account. Add the code to your bio and check it. This proves the handle is yours. It then moves to your account with its campaigns and unpaid earnings, and the other account gets an email. On the old-link page, a YouTube handle in this case needs your team to move it.

If you have an old access code, not a link. On the sign-in page, choose Creator, then Have an old access code?. Enter the code. You land on the same one-step page.

FAQ

Do old creator links still work? Yes, once. The link opens the move page. After a creator moves, the link opens their campaign when they are signed in, and the sign-in page when they are not. A link for a creator who is not active says it does not work anymore.

Is the money I owe kept? Yes. Posts, finalized amounts and payment history stay on each creator's record. When a handle moves between accounts, its campaigns and unpaid earnings move with it.

Is anything lost? No. If a creator never moves, you still see their posts, you can still pay them your usual way, and you can mark the posts paid.

Are payout details safe? Saving details needs an email code. When a creator changes their details, your team sees New payout details next to them for 72 hours, and the creator gets an email with a Wasn't me link. That link locks their payouts until a workspace admin unlocks them. Older free-text details show as Older details — please update and stay out of batch files. ViewsBase never moves money.

Who can see the payment and billing pages? Payments follow the campaign role. Editors and admins pay creators, and viewers do not. Billing is for workspace admins.

Where do I get help? Email team@viewsbase.com.

Ask the ViewsBase AI assistant

Connect ChatGPT or Claude to ViewsBase as described in ChatGPT and Claude. The connection includes tools that read these docs and your migration status. They change nothing.

  • search_docs finds the right section of the docs.
  • read_doc reads one docs page. list_docs lists every page.
  • migration_checklist reads a move-to-ViewsBase-2 checklist for your workspace. It shows counts, such as creators who have not moved to an email account or have no payout method chosen. It shows only what you may access. It never shows emails or payout details.

Try: "Use migration_checklist and tell me what is left to do in my ViewsBase workspace."
